A Simpler Time

My kids love visiting the farm, almost any farm. And thanks to Vero Beach and our church, we have some welcoming friends willing to let them run free and be kids.

Give them a pond to explore, a stick to swing, and a tree to climb, and they will squeeze every possible drop of juice out of that day. They never act out; they explore and hunt for lizards and critters, and anything else that moves. Our kids don’t have phones or tablets, and TV is held in reserve for family movie nights or worship music on YouTube. No complaints from them, though, at this age, there’s nothing on a device that will make their day better or teach them more than they can learn running free on the farm.

They found a litter of kittens, so they sat together and spent some quiet time loving them up. I took this shot.

They love the beach, they love the park, they love being outside, together as a family, but most of all, they love the adventures, mysteries, and life that they find on the farm.
