I’m constantly on the lookout for something compact and easy to carry that has more range than a pistol and can pack a solid punch. There are plenty of 9mm PCR options out there and some good pistol conversion kits, and of course there are options like the HK MP5 (I carried one of those as my primary weapon when I was on SWAT), and various knock offs of the MP5.
In 2023 FN released the 15P at Shot Show chambered in 5.56, and the .300 blackout variant in 2024. Until now I hadn’t paid it much attention but it caught my eye again recently. The drawback was the lack of a pistol brace so it can be held with four points of contact like a rifle. That makes it more stable and accurate. The 15p, if you don’t add a pistol brace is held with two hands and, therefore, harder to control. The big advantage is the size as its very concealable and is considered a pistol despite being chambered in 5.56.
Palmetto arms has it priced at 1999.99 discounted from MSRP of 3359.00 so it’s very tempting to find a way to add it to the family of work tools at that price.
