Shadow Systems started manufacturing pistols in 2019 after three years in the after-market parts business. I discovered them in 2021 when guys in the armed security industry started buying them up for a handful of really good reasons.
– When an armed professional is involved in a shooting incident the weapon that was used in the shooting becomes evidence and is taken into custody by law enforcement. Depending on the case and what state you are in, it can take five years or more to get that gun returned to you provided the courts decide to release it. Shadow Systems had a policy where they would send you a replacement gun if you were involved in a work related shooting and your weapon was seized.
– Many states do not allow armed professionals to do modifications to their duty firearms beyond adding things like lights and optics but you are not allowed to modify or replace things like triggers and other inner workings of the gun. Shadow Systems came out with a pistol that functioned and looked similar to a Glock but it had the equivalent of a much better performing trigger but because it was a stock trigger, it was approved for duty.
Their guns are tough and reliable, reasonably priced, and shoot exceptionally well and they are manufactured in Texas so Shadow Systems was an instant hit.
This year at Shot Show they revealed their newest creations, the E526 and U526 AR 15 rifles. This is their first shot at building a rifle but by all accounts, it’s a winner.
