A man’s responsibility as a husband and father is to lead the family. Biblically, the man is spiritual head of the family, and while some may not like reading this, that includes his wife. Ephesians 5:23 says, “For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church” and 1 Corinthians 11:3: “The head of a wife is her husband”. This may be an inconvenient truth for the world, but for believers, it’s how God commands us to manage our family.
Understand though guys, the Bible also tells us how we should manage our leadership as husbands: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her”. In fact Ephesians 5:22-33 spells out how God instruct how marriage is intended to be structured and managed.
Unfortunately the world teaches that men are providers and protectors, but guys, we are called to be so much more than just that.
