Holosun announced their new HS507 Promax RD PRS optic at Shot Show in January 2026 with a release to the public planned for the last quarter of this year and as promised, is now available to the general public at an MSRP of $506.00. However, many online dealers have priced it in the neighborhood of $470.00.
I currently run a Holosun 507C on my Glock 45 duty weapon with shake awake (batteries last forever), and solar assist which is a good backup just in case. Holosun optics are very easy on batteries and I have never had a failure. I change out my batteries every six months just to be sure but having that solar backup is just additional peace of mind.
These are closed emitter optics so you don’t have to worry about problems due to rain or dirt or mud. I also prefer the red dot with an outter reticle as it makes it very easy to find the dot when you are in motion or when you need to aquire a sight picture very quickly. These optics can be configured to display just a red dot or a red dot and outer reticle. In my experirnce over the past four years of running Holosun optics on all of my duty and personal carry pistols, and my AR under frequent use, I am very happy with the performance and reliability for a very affordable price.
The new features I like about this optic:
- Larger viewing area – helps acquire your sight picture more quickly and improved situational awareness
- Forward leaning sunshade – reduces glare and reticle clarity in bright or direct sunlight
- Three reticle color options – you can buy with either the red, green or gold colored reticle
