The good folks over at Heckler and Koch are releasing their new micro-compact variant of their most popular VP9 pistol. If you are a fan of the VP9, then you are probably excited to get your hands on one. My VP9 is my go-to plain clothes duty pistol as I always prefer to use a full-frame pistol for work. However, when more casual beach wear or fitness wear is necessary, I prefer to carry a smaller and more concealable sub or micro compact. Anything HK comes up with catches my attention. They make excellent weapons that are durable and reliable with great ergonomics.
While new guns are always good news, HK already has the CC9 in their micro-compact lineup so adding another gun that essentially competes with their own existing product may seem strange. As I understand it, the new VP9CC is manufactured in Germany, the home of HK, and the design is similar to the full-frame VP9 whereas the CC9 is not. HK has built a reputation on quality and the VP9 is their most popular pistol so I anticipate this new offering will be a hit. The only downside is the German price tag but the die hard fans who pony up the cash will most assuredly be happy with their purchase.
