Milton’s Rain Got Here A Day Early

Hurricane Milton formed in the Gulf of Mexico, quickly became a category 5 storm and had plans for making landfall on the west coast of Florida. As I write this, Milton made landfall close to Sarasota, Florida at 8:30 pm this evening and is currently pounding the west coast of Florida.

Meanwhile, on the east side of the state, we started getting rain in the early afternoon and then it poured and poured with a vengeance. The street filled up with water quickly so we went to work preparing for a flood and moving vehicles to high ground in case we needed to leave. Still pouring we went inside and started to pray.

The rain continued until it was within inches of our front door then it suddenly stopped. I went outside and shot this video footage. The whole neighborhood is under water.

Milton is expected to hit us around 8:00 am but I can hear the winds building up outside already. I will spend the night awake just in case, and in prayer because I believe God answers prayers.

This is a storm, we have been told, that is the strongest to hit our state in over 100 years. I will be praying for our family, but I am also praying for everyone affected by this storm.
