I think the pure and honest moments result in the holy grail of images. Moments like this one with Monique when she was resting and waiting while we bustled around setting up lights and whatnot. Her body looked so natural. There were none of the usual attempts to twist and turn and re-position everything anticipating something better than a raw and honest pose would result. Doing nothing more than feeling intense emotions and allowing the natural non-verbal communication, every human speaks the loudest with, tell the story.
Of all the work we did that day, and we got many beautiful images, this was my favorite. It is just a picture of Monique, natural and honest, lost in her thoughts, and needing nothing more to be incredibly beautiful than herself.
