Social Media and technology that allows you to create and edit studio quality music on a laptop have changed the music business. To some that change means the destruction of the business, to others, it’s the freedom to be heard now without the need of a lawyer, agent, and someone from a record label telling you that you’re good enough. James Johnson, a 51 year old Firefighter/Paramedic on the Las Vegas Fire Department made steps a year ago toward making his dreams of being a professional musician into a reality. He is a few months away from releasing his first album so we met in the studio to talk about the process, the music business, and the art of making music.
